Dr. Parvati Dev,  currently CEO of  SimTabs , (California based leading developer of virtual medical simulations and health care serious games), has over more than 35 years of experience of developing technology solutions applied to life sciences learning and research problems, including 25 years of managerial experience leading groups of engineers and scientists in corporate and academic settings.

Prior to this she was Director at SUMMIT, Stanford University where she created and grew a medical e-learning lab to international prominence. She was also President and CEO of Innovation in Learning  till  2017 and created the CliniSpace brand as the leader in 3D simulation for healthcare. At CEMAX Inc., she developed the first commercially available 3D reconstructive imaging system for surgical planning and radiologic imaging.

At Stanford University, Dr. Dev founded and ran an internationally recognized learning technologies lab, SUMMIT,( Stanford University Medical Media and Information Technology) with numerous firsts in multimedia, web and simulation for medical education. She was the Principal Investigator for various federal grants and contracts including a $4.3M contract from NIH for development of biomedical applications on high performance networks. Since coming to Stanford University, her research has focused on technologies to increase the efficiency and quality of education software development, including the facilitation of authoring of large, complex hypermedia documents, and on navigation in hypermedia during learning and problem-solving. Under her management and leadership, the SUMMIT research group has had a large impact on medical education both at Stanford and worldwide. SUMMIT pioneered the availability of a fully digital curriculum for medical students. Conducted research and development in surgical simulation, haptics, 3D anatomy, virtual patients and virtual worlds. Created a positive and fun work environment for researchers, staff and students.

At Innovation in Learning, she has been the Principal Investigator for federally funded subcontracts for development of medical virtual environments demonstrating strong leadership for a next generation learning company building virtual medical worlds for training.

Dr. Parvati Dev received a Bachelor of Technology degree, with Honours, in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. She earned an MS and a PhD in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. She has worked on the research and teaching staffs at MIT, Boston University, the Stanford Veterans Administration Medical Centre, and Stanford University.

Dr. Dev is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics. She has authored numerous publications in the field of digital learning, and was on the editorial board of the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association.
